Woods and Wetlands For Beginners

Woods and Wetlands for beginners involves hands on learning to appreciate and respect nature. We will explore the Brower Lake Nature Preserve using all of our senses. This class will include some structured activities, such as learning to use a compass, identifying plants and animals, and map making. Additionally, we will all benefit from nature in the ways that scientific studies have indicated is critical for all humans particularly children. Interacting freely with nature increases a sense of well being, physical, mental and emotional health and decreases symptoms of learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders. But for the kids, it's just fun in the woods, rain or shine! So dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, prepare to get dirty, bring a little knapsack with a water bottle, snack and any woods supplies you'd like to bring! $5 MATERIAL FEE PAYABLE TO INSTRUCTOR GRADES 2-5
