January 28, 2012 at North Rockford Middle School. Building a Healthier Community.  Exhibitors are given the opportunity to increase community awareness about products and services sold, provided and/or manufactured in the Rockford area.  Early registration for 8 x 10 booth is $75.00 before December 18.  Final registration is $100.00 by January 15. Boating Safety Classes

The Grand Rapids Sail and Power Squadron

Power, Paddle, Sail, PWC      Ages 12 and older

Learn about boating and boat safety on the water as presented by the Grand Rapids Power Squadron.  Participants will receive a safe boating certificate, which meets all of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Michigan Boat Safety Certificate requirements.  It also provides a good base for building further boating knowledge.  The instructors have many years of boating experience and are certified boating instructors by the United States Power Squadrons and MI DNR. 

Classes begin on March 12, 2012 (Monday) and run for four weeks excluding spring break (4/2/12) from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  #1815-W12A

Class will be in the Freshmen center LGI room.

Cost is $50.00 and Couples can share the book for a cost of $15.00. 

February 3, 2012 at two locations: Rockford High School and East Rockford Middle School.

Especially for preschool age through 8th grade daughters and their dads to celebrate Valentines Day. Includes favors, refreshments and a DeeJay. Douglas Photography will be available beginning at 6:00 pm and throughout the evening for an additional fee.

Construction Craze

Power tools are awesome! There is nothing like having fun with power drills, jackhammers, dump trucks and more exciting tools in the construction industry. Kids' imaginations will take off as they learn about the importance the tools play in the area of construction, how they work and how they make our jobs easier. Join us for lots of high impact learning and fun, as we build these working models.

JANUARY 28, 2012 is when healthy begins!

Hey kids...take the healthy challenge. Get your friends and let's go "DASHING Through the Snow"!

This is a 1/2 mile race, held at North Rockford Middle School Track,  that will be raced in groups by elementary school. 

The school with the most participation wins a trophy to proudly display at their school naming them winners of the "Healthy Challenge 2012"! There will also be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner awarded for each school.

Each participant will receive a t-shirt.

For children ages 3 1/2 to 4.  Children will develop rhythm, motor skills, balance and coordination while learning the fundamentals of ballet. Children should wear leotard, tights and leather ballet shoes with elastic for tightening.

Friday, February 17, 2012 Marvel-ous Mother/Son Dance - Super Heroes Unite!  Come dressed as your Alter Ego in your favorite Super Hero costume or feel free to use your civilian identity. Especially for preschool - 8th grade sons and their moms. Includes favors, refreshments, and a DJ.; plus Douglas Photography will be available to take pictures beginning at 6:00 pm throughout the evening for an additional fee.
